The Laughing Buddha Comedy six week workshop will guide you through the most important aspects of writing and performing stand up comedy. Laughing Buddha Comedy Director and Founder, Jeff Lawrence will be leading the Level One six week workshop designed for beginning comics in their first few years. Jeff will be sharing his knowledge and abilities with all those seeking a true stand up comedy education. He will be joined by guest instructors Steve Shaffer (Tonight Show, Comedy Central, MTV) David Baker (Jay Leno) and Jeffrey Johns (Lisa Lampanelli opening act) that specialize in various areas of stand up comedy. Laughing Buddha Comedy School is the only school that incorporates significant stage time into the curriculum.

This will be our most intensive workshop to date; a true comedy school program that will drill you to be your very best. This unique six week workshop will combine many aspects of stand up comedy, including but not limited to:

* Writing and performing
* Developing a killer five minute industry set
* Crowd work and hosting (you may co-host with live audiences)
* Originality and your stage persona
* Mic technique
* Effective Setup and Punch
* Opening and closing out your sets in a strong manner
* Audience connection
* Advancing in the NYC club scene
* Promotion and marketing advice individualized for your specific needs

This comprehensive workshop will help to make dramatic changes in your act, or get you confident on stage if your making your debut. You will have readings, viewing, writing assignments, and be asked to perform on stage a minimum amount of times per week, which is absolutely necessary to be a successful stand up comic. We want to develop comics that take stand up comedy seriously! You will also receive complimentary admission to pro shows at Broadway Comedy Club, and have the opportunity to attend those shows. As always in stand up, it is up to you, no one will be taking attendance!

Your tuition will include :
* 6 workshops, each limited to 12 students giving you maximum time for feedback.
* No cover charge to perform in our Tuesday Laughing Buddha Show, and priority on these bookings,
* No cover charge and priority on bookings to perform in our Thursday open mic.
* A one hour private one on one session to be used for writing, performing, business or any combination.
* An industry graduation show with a free high definition DVD of your set.
* Feedback of your graduation performance.

You have the opportunity to be on stage more than one dozen times in front of live audiences. No school comes close to that!
